Castor Oil is extracted from the seeds of Ricinus Communis through Cold pressing method. It belongs to the Euphorbiaceae family of Plant kingdom. Although it is native to Tropical region of Africa, it is now being grown largely in India, China and Brazil. Castor is also known as, ‘Palm of Christ’ for its healing properties. Castor is commercially grown for Castor oil production. There are two varieties of Castor oil; Refined and Unrefined. Refined Castor oil can be used in Cooking and consuming purposes, while Unrefined Cold pressed Castor oil is more suitable for skin care and topical application. It has thick texture and is comparatively slow to absorb in skin.

It is recommended to store carrier oils in cool dark place to maintain their freshness and maximum shelf life. If refrigerated, bring them to room temperature before use.
Always do a patch test on inner elbow before applying to larger areas. Apple a little oil on inner elbow and leave for 10 minutes. If reaction occurs, discontinue use.
