Celery essential oil is derived from the Celery plant, scientifically known as Apium graveolens from the Umbelliferae plant family. It is not just a vegetable used in salads and stir fires, but is a coveted herb to Chinese from as early as 5th Century and is widely used in Indian Ayurvedic medicine as well.
It is extracted using steam distillation of the seeds of the plant and has sweet, warm and earthy spicy aroma.
Body: The anti-inflammatory properties of this oil provides natural remedy for conditions associated with pain and discomfort like arthritis, gout, rheumatism or even muscular aches like after intense workout. It also helps in relieving pain from stiff, weak joints and aching muscles. Mix 5 drops of Celery seed oil with 2.5 ml olive oil and gently massage on the affected areas.
Mind: It also helps in lower hypertension and decrease blood pressure by stimulating a relaxant effect on the central nervous system and expansion of blood vessels to reduce pressure build up. Calming and sedative properties of this oil helps in reducing stress, anxiety and bring upon peace and tranquillity within you and emotionally uplift your spirit.
Other: The Anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties helps kill mosquitoes and ward them away from your home. This it can act as a potent, all natural insecticide and repellent. You can add few drops of this oil in diffuser or add few drops in spritz bottle containing water and spray on counterparts, sinks and other surfaces. It can also be added to your creams and lotions or add 2 drops with 1 ml jojoba oil and make a natural anti-mosquito repellent.
